I was on Factions2 today. It was the most popular server at the time. I've been very inactive but every day I am becoming more motivated to fix and work on squad. Ftp removed A huge number of players AND friends were telling me that Factions random teleport killed the server. There are a few methods of protecting your stuff and progress on a factions server. 1) stuff in the echest or playervaylts. 2) stuff it in an unclaimed land so legit players can't see it. 3) claim land, build a tough to raid base, and hope no one raids it. Option 1) is very limited. There isn't enough space to save months of worth loot. 2) is very risky. A hacker with xray can see it from a mile away. 3) Is the most common and traditional way to do things. But /ftp would take people strait to your base. No effort was spent on searching. Base raids kept happening very frequently. A lot of people just gave up. I still like the idea of ftp. I think it should be, a consumable item. Ftp also had a bug where it would be more likely to teleport you to bigger faction claims instead of smaller faction claims. This sucks because if someone claimed 100 land and quit, you would be 100 times more likely to teleport to this huge land claim that was already raided 50 times. I think all factions should be equally likely to attract a ftp teleport. So if this feature is ever added back in. It will be a rare single use consumable from a crate or something. It will also have equal chance to teleport to any faction, instead of preferring factions with more land claims. Ftp in general deterred people from building claimed bases completely. So now there was nothing to raid at all. Ironic due to the feature was intended to increase base raids. I also fixed spawners, so now you can buy spawners from the shop, and place them in your base, and they will produce the correct mobs again. This feature got broken when the server ran out of hard drive and the silkspawners plugin had a chunk of it erased. I had a few ideas today. It doesn't take money, knowledge or contacts to advertise a server. It just takes time. I could sit there 10 hours a day advertising squad, but that's still not that effective. Now if there were a bunch of people advertising squad all day, that would make a huge difference. I was thinking about having a partner program. Where people could earn revshare from squad for requiting players. The way this would work is, a person would get an ip to advertise. They would go on forums, websites, blogs, anywhere possible. They would advertise the ip. I will be able to track how much earnings that brings in, and I would give half of the earnings to that person, the person advertising the ip. I can do this with as many people as are interested. I'm sure people whom are really good at this would be able to maybe even turn this into a job. Another idea I had was the youtuber rank. The youtuber rank hasn't really been given out to anyone. People whom want the youtuber rank don't really have a big enough following. They just made a youtube account and claimed to be a youtuber. I was thinking I could just give people the youtuber rank if they make 50 videos on squadcraft. So again, 50 decent uploads = youtuber rank, reguardless of channel size. Of course there are quality standards. You can't just upload the same video 50 times. The video can't be too short. Video must meet some quality standards. So like 720p+. Decent audio quality. If a video doesn't meet standards Ill just comment and explain why. Anyway if someone is interested in advertising squad. I guess comment here and ill contact you with the ip to advertise.
Awesome. My opinion for Youtuber rank should be that it has a certain amount of subs and view counts per video. This would advertise the server to more instead of just having 50 videos if you get what I mean. Just my opinion.
Will being a youtuber making fun of squadcraft and it's players count? Can I be an unskilled at pvp and be a youtuber? Will I be paid for being a youtuber?
