Why do you play Minecraft?

There are numerous reasons for why 33 million children/adults of different ages play this game. Minecraft is all about the different varieties and aspects that a game should have, to deem itself as a “fun” game.

• Players from different communities attend international conventions
• Autistic players planning and setting up their own servers w/parents to have a safe place as a way to express their creativity, intelligence, and overall skills. Leading to almost genuinely auspicious results.

Rather playing alone, social and active players are able to not only communicate but interact with each other from different places. As a team they build, destroy, fight, explore, and possibly venture into the secrets that lie deep in Minecraft, in order to rise up and become the greatest player they can be.

Saturday: 8~11:30 am 12~6 pm 9~10 pm

Sunday: 9~11 am 2~5 pm 8~9 pm

This is a precise schedule of when I am 100% positive that I will be online. However in some cases, where school is lacking in homework, I am capable of extending the hours by at least 2-3 hours. In some scenarios where there are situations going on irl, I won’t probably be as active, depending on how serious the situation is.
In some cases when I am not online during those times, will most likely be because of

• Homework
• IRL problems/situations
• Taking a break

How many hours a day can you play? How many hours do you actually play?

Viewing my somewhat precise schedule, I would like to say I play a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 4-5 hours on weekdays. However when it comes to weekends, including Friday, I would like to say I spend at least 6 hours of minecraft and at most of 10 hours. The amount of hours I play, are all dependent on different factors.

How long have you been playing SquadCraft?

I'm not 100% sure of when I’ve started Squadcraft, and how long I’ve been playing. Some players might say I’ve been playing for atleast 3-4 years. I started Squadcraft as a factions player, and gradually transformed into a kitpvp player. I do remember joining squadcraft when it ranged from 1000 to about 2000 players. I started watching minecraft videos on youtube and came acrost drplaystation and I checked out this server. From there, Squadcraft has been my main server ever since. If you weren't here, there were a lot of different youtubers who did join this community, like TheCampingRusher. It's sad to say they all left.

What's your favorite memory on SquadCraft?

I really can’t describe all of my favorite memories on squadcraft, because we all know throughout these 3-4 years, I’ve built up tons and tons of unique memories. As I think through the memories I’ve shared as a squadcrafter, the one that really stuck out would have to be:

• When I first became friends with @Lexilou11, she was a really great mod/player. I remember this one time when she was wearing pink leather armor, and I was really confused on how she got it. So I begged her for a set. This set showed a token of our friendship on this server. As we continued to chat, I tp’ed her into a swamp biome. From their we planted three plants in a row, evenly spaced. We placed a sign on each tree, showing ownership over each one of it, by writing our name on the signs placed on the tree. -=[Jerry2kewl]=- -=[Lexilou11]=- -=[xsinfuldesire]=-

Where do you spend your time at SquadCraft?

I’ve used to spend most of my time on both Factions 1 and 2, but now I’ve taken interest in Kitpvp. However I do like to server hop, and have sometimes played on prison, and creative. I usually spend 1~2 hours on kitpvp or prison to hang out, talk, and sometimes build. For the past 2-3 years I've only been playing on factions because I didn't really take the time to look at the other servers. After being bored of factions, (Note: I still play Factions) I decided to join kitpvp. I've been playing most of my time on kitpvp during the morning, and prison/creative at night, with alittle factions in between. It was fun playing factions with thesnowglobe even after I destroyed his house with an explosive bed. Also Kitpvp is where I hang out with friends and on prison I just go around and help people with their plots.

Why do you want to be a moderator? What is your goal as a SquadCraft moderator?

Although Squadcraft had/has an amazing staff team, lately, they have shown a sign of being unable to play Minecraft for one reason, or another. This application isn’t a way to replace any mods, but I think with the large amount of servers and the players we get, I believe we need a moderator who is on more often to moderate. As a staff member, I feel obligated to follow each rules precisely. My goal of a moderator is to purge squadcraft from it’s current environment, applying different rules to each and every player, including myself.

• No Bigotry, basically no discriminating others, based on color, race, religion, age, origin, ethnicity, and more.
• No spamming, this rule applies to overuse of capitals, repetition of the same lines
• No advertising, Don’t boast about a server to a player
• No sexual or offensive material, This is really common, posting sexual or offensive material is very childish of a behavior and can be taken seriously against players. Posting of porn sites, will not be tolerated and will be immediately punished.

Enforcing these laws, will always prevent squadcraft from going off course. However when it comes to players and their transgression. Different punishments are necessary. For example, players can talk about your mom, without realizing what they have typed. It is crucial for the server, that the moderator will deal with it fairly to both the players. I will often give out several warnings, and what rules they have broken and how they have broken these rules, so they can prevent from receiving further punishment. HOWEVER there are some that cannot be warned, and must have immediate action. Such as advertisement, spamming, and sexual/offensive material or content.

As a staff member, It is important to have great communication with not just the rest of the team, but players also. When it comes to dealing with your friends, It is hard to deal with them, because of your friendship, but every player deserve equal treatment no matter who they are. All in all I feel it's necessary for players to step up and get out of their comfort zones to help the server in any way possible.

I am/was a very active player on factions. However I have taken an interest in kitpvp, and have been going all out in kitpvp. From my return, I've noticed different changes for the better and worse. One bad thing I've noticed is mod's power of punishment. Ban has been a thing for mods, but has been taken away. Although kicking players is useful, cheaters will always find a way to ruin player's time.

- Not hacking when mods aren't online
- Hacking when they are afk
These are some ideas of how hackers can bypass getting punished. Plain out hackers/cheaters are scattered throughout our server, and so it will make it harder for our current mods to distinguish the hackers from the legit. Most of the time when mods are online, they play regularly until they are offline, or afk. Sometimes action occured to punish these hackers/cheaters, but the other times they just let it sly. Sometimes, players hackusate, and action has been taken although that player is legit. I believe mods would need to have experience for that server, and so Factions would be a place I excel at, and to follow with what I have stated.

- Many different players have different views, and believe that they are always correct over others. The way I see it is, If people are willing to cooperate and have the will to arrive at an agreement, then everyone will leave satisfied seeing that their point of view has been taken into consideration and utilized in someway to help this server out. By becoming Mod, I plan on making this possible along with help from other players as well.
- There are mods who are biased. Mods are allowed to have opinion, but when that opinion is stated, players see it as mods choosing a side. That is why the mod's opinion should be unspoken. Personally I believe that by keeping out of the argument is the smartest way, but still viewing this argument. Demonstrating that we are open to both sides, which can help calm the players dispute because they see that there is more than one way to solve this, rather than arguing a pointless argument

As a moderator, how will you affect SquadCraft?

As a moderator, I feel I am capable of affecting squadcraft in such a way, that players will grow to the likings of the server, and advertise to their friends/family/relatives resulting in this server to grow popular more and more. Besides that, cleansing squadcraft from the bad, one person at a time, will be enough to show squadcraft and it’s great community once again.

• When it comes to punishment, several warnings would be enough, however if they continue, I will follow up with questions
• Why are you doing this? What is the point of this? Do you understand you need to be punished?

Being a moderator isn't about horseplay. To make squadcraft a better environment I would devote my time and am an active member on the server. I would carry on making sure that I provided helpful responses to players' questions. As a moderator I would watch the chat and any other servers I decide to visit is spam free and friendly. If anybody ever messages me about their suggestions and opinions about the server, I would take the time to listen and take their views on board, perhaps by creating a thread about what they thought or talking about it to other players or staff. Most importantly, I would do everything I could to make sure that everyone was having an enjoyable time on Squadcraft.

I've been playing this server for quite some time now, and have knowledge on how to punish someone based on their actions, also following surge's new handbook.
-= Active =-
I try to be active as much as I can, but school and other priority do come first, but whenever I am, I try to stay away from afk, so I can help when someone needs it. Sometimes I go on minechat, and for the forums, you will almost always see me online.
-= Hacks=-
Yes, even though hacking has been something I've experienced first hand, which gives me an advantage in determining whether or not someone is hacking or not. Ranges frmo x-rays, chest esp, reach, aura, anti-kb, crits, tracers, any sort of hacks you can think of, I will almost definitely catch.
-= Humor=-
I can be a bit child-like sometimes for the laughter. When being a moderator, helping the server is something I will be doing, but on the other hand keeping the chat fun and friendly is something I like to do. It could be chatting with others, or pulling off jokes for the mere enjoyment of life, but when duty calls to punish someone, I will immediately cut the chatter for later, and head right over to do what is needed.
-= Moderator-
Currently I would say there are about 3-4 mods that are on the top of my head.. and congratulations to @crixario for becoming a mod. However playing on any server, doesn't need to be kitpvp, there is hardly a staff that is present or online. I see bolt sometimes but thats a different story because hes a different timezone, but the only times lost is on is when I msg him on skype to punish a hacker. Recently I saw rev for the first time online but hes active on forums, and hopefully crixiaro can be active. Although it may be a time zone thing, becoming mod could really boost the chances of removing any sort of rule breakers.
-= Common Knowledge=-
Although this should be at the top with "knowledge" I chose to make it a different sub topic in this question. Being mod is all about having common sense. When it comes to doing something, I almost tend to always do the right thing but no one is perfect, so mistakes come along the way here and there.
-= Extra Things=-
I'd like to say im a decent typer. My tested wpm was ranged from 150-160's, but that could be inaccurate now, since it was data from 8th grade, when im in 10th grade. That could be handy, when im typing a command to help someone or to tempban/mute/jail/kick so they can't do as much harm but having the clear chat is always handy. Grammar, I will always correct someone if their grammar is incorrect or spelling is incorrect, because 1) I want them to learn from it so they won't have to be constantly corrected and 2) Im the Grammar Nazi according to @NickLuvsLego. Grammar can help, because when a moderator is typing something and the player can't understand its sort of hard to do anything, if they won't understand what you want. Lastly I'm always aware of the chat, reports, and threads. When a moderator is aware of something, its always good because when a player needs something from the moderator, its always good to be aware of it so you can quickly rspond to it.

Do you want Mod just to have Mod next to your name?

If, and I mean IF I become a moderator, I feel it’s going to impact squadcraft more, if I did not have the prefix by my name. Yes, moderator prefixes do show a sign of power, and yes it shows players that they shouldn’t be doing this because mods are online. Which is ironic because right after the mods log off, they continue to do it. So to simply prevent this, as an “undercover” mod I will warn players to stop, and of course they will say “shut up, you're not a mod”. However players who do admit to cheating and further deletes or removes themselves from these cheats, will prove to us that they aren’t pure kids who feel the need to ruin player’s time and efforts.

What happens if you are not chosen to be a moderator?

Not being chosen for moderator is a state of melancholy, but growing up and changing is always the right thing to do. I wouldn’t understand the problem now, but as I gradually develop over time, I will be able to see and correct the mistakes within me.

What kind of skills do you have?

• Exceptional Communication Skills - Effective in verbal, listening, and writing

• Analytical Skills - My ability to assess a situation, seek multiple perspectives, gather necessary intel, and identifying key issues
• Leadership Skills - Able to relate to different staff members, manage players from right and the wrong. Capable of motivating and and mobilizing/coaching players
• Planning/Organizing - I have the ability to devise several plans that will benefit this server. However, if it doesn’t I will analyze the situation and fix the issue
• Teamwork - Most importantly, I have the ability to equally work as a group

Squadcraft/Faction skills - talking to the community. For example if someone is breaking a rule, I will try and explain why they should not do what they are doing. Also, if they start getting rude, then I will be patient and stay calm. I can type quite quickly, meaning that I can respond appropriately whatever is going on in chat soon. I am fair and treat all players equally. No matter whether someone is my friend in real life or in game, I will still mute them or do what is necessary to prevent it from happening again.

Have you ever been banned? If so, why?

Yes, I have been banned on this server once, but for a ridiculous reason. As factions crashed, I suggested an idea if “tnt” had any part in this crashing. I specifically wrote, “I think TNT did this” but I guess the mods took it as I was the one who crashed the server with intentions of ruining the server, which I didn’t. This was later resolved and I was unbanned.

Have you ever cheated, used hacks? If so, why?

Yea Yea, you caught me. It’s part of life, for players of the weak, to reduce themselves to such a low tactic to overcome strong players, which would be Hacked Clients, Mods, etc. I’ve had several reports of me hacking on small servers, so my hacks were rarely a problem to players. However I must state, that the hacks never stepped foot on this server once. After these reports were made and punishments occured, I've learned my lessons of using hacked clients. If I were to use it, it comes with a price, and that price is something I never want to experience again.

How do you treat younger players?

I would like to be honest, for most of squadcraft in the past years, I was known as one of the most nicest players verbally, and physically. I never swore, or verbally harassed a player. As I come back to squadcraft, I’ve changed in a way, that I’ve been constantly mocking a player. I’ve ended that mockery, and decided to turn over a new leaf, and redirect my path to who I was.

• Treating young players can be kind of tough and tricky, because although I would treat them the same as how I would treat an adult or teen, but the fact that they are a kid still remains. This means, I would need to use easier words, for them to understand, and in some cases, ease the punishment alittle.

Do you use TeamSpeak or skype?

I use Skype mainly, but teamspeak will be an option too if recommended


List the things you've done to help the SquadCraft community and the SquadCraft server.

For the past four years, I’ve been filing countless reports on different players, I felt shouldn’t belong in this community. This ranges from hackers => Spammers => Advertisers => Ddosers/Doxers.

Besides helping the mods with these players, I’ve helped new players to familiarize themselves with our unique community.

• Helped them establish and understand the rules of Squadcraft
• Doesn’t count, but helped them overall with items and gear
• Provided suggestions to improving this server, and enticing suggestions that could really draw in different player’s attention

@Lostvayne, has been notified by me many many times about different hackers, and when he isn't busy he comes on to check if they are hacking. Do you have any experience as a staff member of any organization? (doesn't have to be Minecraft)

I do want to say that I was a co-owner on a server called Elemental Network, owned by Reximus_Prime11, commonly referred to as Cfdt123. He was a great owner, and hired me to be his co-owner for his server. I’ve helped him a lot through creating his server, building, moderating, and donating. For the past year, I have been moderating beside him, and with a group of staff members.

• Unfortunately it did shut down

When it comes to real life, I have personal experiences of being an experienced member

• There was a time, At home, there are these twins, who are significantly younger than me who come over late, due to their father's work schedule. They can be very demanding, however I am very patient and fair with them. There was this one time they got into a fight because they wanted to play a specific game on the PS3. It started as an argument but it later turned into one of them kicking the other person. Without being harsh with punishment I simply explained the right from the wrong and the behavior towards others.
• Another example would be community service. I’ve created a club at our school, to go every week and clean up the community/aid the elders. I’ve separated our members into groups like A, B, C. We would rotate our job, with one group does this and the next week, they do another one.
• Another school example, is advertising our school as one of the greatest in the state. With a lot of hard work, and patience, We’ve shown our strengths of this server. Over the course of middle school, I’ve helped that school to bring over 500 students from different countries to enroll in our school, because of our academics and sports.

Tell us about yourself, about you, your character, personality and values.

I am highschooler, enrolled in one of the top schools in the state, known mainly for their academics and sports. I have enrolled in this school, for three things

• Interest in Math, currently taking PCH as a tenth grader
• Basketball, playing mainly as a shooting guard, for the boys jv team
• Band, I play tenor saxophone, for our school jazz band, and marching band
  Our school’s motto, of “One Team” is very recommended as it always gets me to going, to meet up with random people, talk, get to know them, because when it comes to working with someone you don’t know. Getting to know them, and talking to them, will make them more comfortable when working with you, and so we can produce the best quality of work.

Heh I guess so.. And in those months I'll be msging the mods on my skype to come and do what is necessary.. I wanted to become mod because although they are mods.. Messaging them all the time is kind of silly especially since sometimes they are busy or sleeping.. I've done that before and so by becoming mod it would be easier to do it myself rather. Than wait for the mods to come online.. And in that time the rule breakers are freely roaming without any care whatsoever
