Why do you play Minecraft?

Minecraft has been a favorite past time activity of mine for a while, I started playing PE version around 5 years ago, and then about 3 years ago a friend of mine recommended I try the PC version. I tried the demo and loved how much more detail there was in the PC version and I bought it soon after. I only played single player for a while after I bought the game, my family didn’t own high speed internet at the time and my ping was absolutely terrible. But that problem was fixed and we have high speed internet now, and I play multiplayer Minecraft most of the time now. I got to playing Squadcraft from a recommendation from another friend; I started out playing Squad Skyblock and enjoyed the calm peaceful environment, and the friendly people. I played Skyblock for a few months and I decided to try new servers on Squad, my next choice was Skywars. I absolutely LOVE the Squad Skywars, the maps are perfect and the items in chests are not to over-powered, making the game much more skill based than item based. I have played Skywars for about a year consistently now, every day that I can. Unfortunately the community on Skywars is not as calm and peaceful as Skyblock, but that is one problem I will
strive to fix as moderator.

MST (Mountain Standard Time) Albuquerque, New Mexico.

When are you usually online?

I generally play Minecraft in the afternoons after I have completed my daily quota for school, around 4pm. Unfortunately my brother and I share a computer ever since his laptop broke so I can’t play as much as I would like, but we switch back and forth from about 4pm to 9:15pm, that is the time you would most likely see me online.

How many hours a day can you play? How many hours do you actually play?

Here is a weekly schedule showing my hours played on Minecraft daily:
Monday: 8:30am-4pm, School. 4pm-6pm, high school bowling practice. 6pm-9:15pm, free time. So on Mondays I can play a max of 2 hours and 45 minutes, but I normally only play for an hour because Monday’s are so busy for me
Tuesday: 8:30am-4pm, School. 4pm-9:15pm, free time. Tuesday’s are much more open for me; I generally play Minecraft for 2-3 hours. The maximum amount of time I could play is 5 hours and 15 minutes.
Wednesday: 8:30am-4pm, School. 4pm-9:15pm, free time. Wednesday’s are usually the same schedule as Tuesday’s, much more open and I’m available most of the afternoon.
Thursday: 8:30am-4pm, School. 4pm-9:15pm, free time. Same schedule as Tuesday/Wednesday.
Friday: 8:30am-4pm, School. 4:30pm-6pm, high school bowling practice. 6pm-However late I’d like, free time. Basically the same schedule as Monday, a little busy, but being Friday I can stay up as late as I’d like, and that can range from 10:30pm to 2am. So Friday is a larger playing time for me, usually I play around 4 hours, the maximum I can play is 8 hours.
Saturday: 8:30am-11:30am, high school bowling tournament. 11:30am-the rest of the day, free time. Now Saturday is usually when I hang out with my friends or girlfriend, so normally I do not spend from 11:30am to however late at night I stay up that specific day. Some Saturday’s I do not play at all, and some I play almost all afternoon and night. The maximum amount of time I could spend is 12 hours.
Sunday: 9:30am-12pm, Church. 12pm-the rest of the day, free time. Again this is the same as Saturday, I usually spend my afternoon hanging out with my friends or girlfriend, so my time played on Minecraft varies quite a lot.

How long have you been playing Squadcraft?

I could not say the exact date I joined Squad, but I do believe it is getting close to my 2 year anniversary here. Squad has continued to be, and will remain my favorite server.

What's your favorite memory on Squadcraft?

The good ‘ole Skywars days, when there was an overall better community and less pay-to-win. With people like Dibley and Giinger the Skywars back then was a little better than it is now, but Squad still has the best Skywars around by far.

Where do you spend your time at Squadcraft?

As I have stated before I spend most of my time on Squad on Skywars. Occasionally I play Skyblock or Kitpvp, but Skywars is where you can find me most of the time.

Why do you want to be a moderator? What is your goal as a Squadcraft moderator?

I would like to become moderator to help accomplish 3 main goals:

1) Improve the community: I would moderate chat and keep spam and bad language under control, first warning the player breaking chat rules, then kicking them, if it continues to happen I would then mute the player breaking chat rules, and finally if they chose to ignore myself and break the rules once again I would jail them. Starting with short periods, probably 10 minutes depending on the severity of the rule(s) broken and the attitude of the player breaking them. Hopefully after the player has been jailed they have learned their lesson and do not continue to break the rules, but if they choose to do so, I would double the amount of jail time. 10minutes to 20minutes, 20minutes to 40 minutes, 40 minutes to an hour and 20 minutes, so on and so forth.

2) Get rid of hackers making Skywars an unenjoyable place to be: As an experienced Skywars player, one of the top most annoying and frustrating thing, if not number 1, is a hacker. Hackers can absolutely ruin a player’s experience, and if a new comer to Squad plays a few games with a hacker I can guarantee you that person will find somewhere else to play Skywars. As a moderator a top priority is getting rid of unfair players. I own recording software; if there is a hacker in game I will not lose an opportunity to record and ban that hacker.

3) Make Squadcraft Skywars a fun place to be: This is mostly a combination of my last two goals. Getting rid of hackers and keeping chat under control can make all the difference in helping make Squad Skywars a fun, enjoyable, and safe environment for the young and old Minecrafter’s alike.

As a moderator, how will you affect Squadcraft?

I will affect Squadcraft by accomplishing my top 3 goals stated above, to the best of my abilities. I will strive to achieve my goals with the upmost endeavor to make Skywars a better place for everyone. As for the forums, I will keep spam and hacking reports cleaned up and out of the way, punishing the players as needed, so they do not get backed up like they are now...

Do you want Mod just to have Mod next to your name?

Of course not, I would happily go without the fancy purple nametag and kits; all I need is the simple permissions of moderator that help me accomplish my goals as moderator. Sure having a moderator nametag and the special permissions that come with it will make anyone feel warm and fuzzy inside, but that’s not what moderator is about.

What happens if you are not chosen to be a moderator?

I go on to play Squadcraft as normal, not with any kind of different attitude. I will wait my time to re-apply, or accept the fact that Surge does not find me worthy of the Moderator position and responsibility. But either way I will never quit Squad simply because I was not accepted as Moderator, that is a childish and immature way to try and get what you want.

What kind of skills do you have?

I’m not sure what exactly this question means, but my Minecraft skills include typing fairly fast, which allows me to answer questions quickly and mute/jail/ban someone before they log off. I am pretty decent at PvP, I can tell what is hacking and what is not. I can record and upload to YouTube, to prove that a player was in fact hacking and deserved to be banned. I can keep my temper under control 99% of the time, which will prevent any raging and unfair punishments. Also I'm very strong with organizing, I keep all my screen shots and videos in my flash drive, tell me a players name and I can easily look them up in my flash and provide proof.

Have you ever been banned? If so, Why?

I have never been banned from Squadcraft, ever. However I have been kicked twice before. Both fairly, but if I was given a chance to explain I am sure the mods that kicked me would have understood and I would not have been kicked. The first time I was kicked was for spam, there was a storm in my area and made my ping terrible, but long story short I lagged out and accidently spammed a Mod. The second time I was kicked was for performing a scam auction on Skyblock, no one had took the bait and bid, but it was against the rules and the Mod online at the time did what he was supposed to do and kicked me. The second time I was kicked was on April Fool’s day however, just a bad joke from me.

 

Have you ever cheated, used hacks? If so, Why?

I have never downloaded a hacked client to give me an unfair advantage over other players. I hate cheaters and they do not deserve to have the privilege of playing on Squad. I play legitimate, and I will always do so.

How do you treat younger players?

I treat younger players with the same amount of respect I have for everyone else and more. The world is becoming more and more perverted, but even so it is no excuse for children playing Minecraft to hear and see things that they should not be exposed to now, and possibly ever. As part of my goal to keep chat under control I will not allow any form of avoiding chat filter and swearing. I myself am not offended by bad language, but I know that most people are, and I will make a strong effort to prevent younger players from seeing any kind of foul language. Also any type of sexual talk will not be permitted while I’m Moderating chat, children do not need to be opened to the extremely perverted and disgusting sexual thoughts of some people.

Do you use teamspeak or skype?

I do not have a headset, but I plan on getting one for Christmas. After I have a headset I will most likely use teamspeak, but for now I just use Skype, which I will gladly share over a personal conversation to anyone who has a purpose for it.

List the things you've done to help the Squadcraft community and the Squadcraft server.

I try my best to never curse, on the forums or in game. As stated above I do not want to expose younger children to things they should not see. I am a very respectful person, even if you do not like me it does not mean I will hold it against you, I will try to find out what the problem is and fix it so there is no problem between us. Overall I have helped the Squadcraft community by being a nice and enjoyable person on the forums and in game. I have donated for diamond rank on Skywars and Skyblock. I report any type of spam, or rule breaking directly to the forums, I have helped by collecting proof to punish the people that deserve it, whether they be hackers, spammers, or just plain rude.

How many applications have you submitted before? When was the last one? Is there anything else you would like to say?

I have submitted 4 applications in the time I have been on the forums. My first was terrible, I did not pay attention to the format and it was instantly denied. My second was denied because the server I applied for was down at the time. My third was denied by Yonda without a reason, so I am not sure why he did. Finally my fourth was also denied by Yonda, and I quote “I’ve denied this before”, so it was a misunderstanding on his part because he thought it was my last application.

My last application was posted on July 26th, 2014.

There is not much I have to say, but for some reason Yonda and I just never got along and he would never answer me as to why he did not like me, but alas, he is gone, so I am hoping my chances are greatly improved and I have a fair shot.

Do you have any experience as a staff member of any organization (Doesn’t have to be Minecraft)?

I have had a few staff experiences. I’ll start with my Minecraft staff experiences and move on to my real life ones. I am currently a helper on a slightly bigger server than Squad; it averages around 300+ players. Being a helper on this server has taught me how to use my staff permissions well, and to not be frustrated by everyone asking for things, being targeted, and how to keep the rules enforced most efficiently. My second Minecraft staff experience is being the owner of my own server. I shut it down a few months ago due to lack of resources and time, but it was up for about 2 months and had around 20 players on daily. This experience helped me learn how a server works, how to keep the players happy, and that being owner is not easy. My third staff experience is Administrator of a smaller server, owned by a former Squadcraft Mod/player Snowbud56. His server lasted longer than mine, and from the Administrator experience I learned how to watch over the newly promoted helpers, and also continued my education on how to deal with rule breakers efficiently and fairly. My real life staff experiences include an internship with a custom home building company. I worked over the summer and during weekends last year as an apprentice to my Grandfather, a construction superintendent. We worked together along with his crew to build anywhere from 1-4 houses at a time. This experience taught me more about the career field I am currently interested in, and most importantly how to communicate and work together with other people.

Tell us about yourself, about you, your character, personality and values.

First I just would like to say you may want to edit this question, because it is a little repetitive to ask me to tell you about myself (yourself) and me (you) haha.

About me:
1) I am 15 years old, born on February 8th 1999 in Austin Texas.
2) I am of the male gender.
3) I play baseball for fun and bowling competitively.
4) I enjoy the outdoors, I go for hikes and bike rides often.
5) Even enjoying the outdoors I do enjoy my technology, I love to experiment with the latest new technology, I own the Galaxy S5 currently and it’s the best phone I could ask for, I highly recommend it haha.
6) I live in a family of four, my mom and dad, and my younger brother _ManlyMan.
7) I am much more advanced in my education for my age; I took dual credit courses at a community college earlier this year at the age of 15. I am a home schooled senior currently, and I will be taking more courses at the community college this January.

About my character: I have been told many times that my parent’s friend’s compliment on how genuinely nice and respectful I am. I try to make friends when I have the opportunity, and I am never rude in public. I put my maximum effort into everything I do, no matter who, if anyone at all, is watching.

About my personality: I am a fun loving guy, I like to have fun with my friends and be in a light mood. I am a man of few words, I usually do not engage in conversation unless I am asked a question or prompted to speak. But depending on the situation I can be very serious; to the point my family and friends do not like to be around me… That does not mean I have a bad attitude or am rude during this time, I just can take things too seriously sometimes. But with that said I still take a joke for a joke, and I am fluent in sarcasm.

My values: I respect everyone, no matter their religion, race, language, or values. I am not racist at all, racism is utterly disgusting and I hate it. I do not swear around those who find it disrespectful, I try my best not to offend anyone in any way.

NOPE. All you do is go around and criticize everyone else's app because you're so desperate.

 

I dont criticize without telling them something they did right as well, it's called constructive criticism, and there's a huge difference. If your app is great, I'll tell you it's great, but I don't go around finding every single little detail wrong with people's apps, I'm simply giving people advice to help them improve. If you really wanted me to criticize people's apps I would copy their app to Microsoft word, print it, read it through twice, correct spelling errors a third time through, circle unecessary words a fourth time through, and finally revise each and ever sentence. That's criticism, I don't tear people's apps to shreds and make them feel bad, and maybe sometimes I am a little harsh, but all I'm doing is helping by letting the person know what's wrong with their application. Lastly, I'm not desparte, I quit aplying after my last app was denied close to 6 months ago, I could go without moderator easily, I just want to help and I thought I would try my chances out since applying is different now. Also Nyteo, if you quit, stop hanging around here, if most of us suck serious *ss then go find different people to hang around.

Hopefully if people actually do think about what you said before they post comments on my app will be less negative and won't have as much arguing. You're right in a way about the arguments on my app helping me, I can defend myself from anything negative and false. But even so I still have that negative content on my app.
