Thanks Robbin, this was actually useful as I am not fully vaccinated and my parents and I were wondering if I should be.

    And why is that?

I'm happy to hear that the information I provided was of some use.

I would get vaccinated but I'm horribly afraid of getting needles, I would rather die of Measules then get a needle. (That's actually why I got H1N1 and nearly died)

I don't know if I like needles because the only time I've been vaccinated is when I was born (for like Polio and stuff).

Most anti-vaxxers believe that vaccinations give children autism, which has been proven to be completely incorrect. Those who do it for other reasons are simple idiotic. Having protection from disease and helping the world from becoming completely protected are two of the most important things, and vaccinations have no valid negatives, it's really that simple. The fact that there are still people being so incredibly ignorant and selfish not to vaccinate their children and still attempt to complain when they aren't allowed in schools, public places etc. is disgraceful.
    Yes, you should be.
You know that's a severe exaggeration, and you should certainly get vaccinated - you're an aspiring doctor for God's sake.

There are a lot of vaccinations that are ineffective and some that are harmful. The chicken pox vaccine isn't very effective, there have been people vaccinated who still contract the disease. I've had it and it's not that bad. I'm not vaccinated for HPV because that vaccine is crap. There are over 100 strands and it only covers two. It has also been proven to contribute to cervical cancer. That's your opinion but I don't get vaccines for valid reasons, that doesn't make me stupid.

That's BS there is no evidence what so ever support the idea that vaccines cause autsim in children. You cant even call this a theory because theories are ideas backed up by scientific evidence there is no scientific evidence here

My parents don't believe in vaccinating but it's not because of the absurd reasons MCSmelter listed.

The point in a vaccination is to prevent disease, they go through severe testing and I am fairly sure every vaccine has saved many, many lives. Also, since they are tested so much the potential risks are severely outweighed by the good vaccines do.
You, being a relatively well off Canadian have access to top quality medical care. This means that chicken pox wont affect you badly at all. The people it will affect badly at those at the end of the chain of it being passed from person to person. They do not have access to top quality medical care, and will suffer greatly or maybe even die from diseases a well off person would barely notice. A great example of this is diarrhoea, while me and you feel slightly aggravated upon having it, millions of poorer people have died from it. You and other anti-vaxxers receiving the vaccine, and therefore not contracting Chicken pox, could very well save a lot of lives.
The point in the HPV vaccine is that it helps prevent cervical cancer, therefore it does not contribute to it. The two types of HPV it protects against count for 70% of cervical cancer cases.
The positives severely out-weigh the negatives when it comes to vaccines. Vaccines are becoming less of a personal choice at this point because you have to consider other people, more people becoming vaccinated means less people getting diseases around the world - which is one of our only remaining strategies to conquer disease at this point since a lot of diseases are becoming resistant to antibiotics due to doctor's idiocy.

If u don't go through vaccinations ur taking a pretty big risk. Just my opinion

    MCSmelter The Maul Awakens

The scientific readings that first brought the idea that vaccines give children autism were debunked as false and the doctor who wrote them admitted he lied and has been banned from being a doctor, hence why I said it is a stupid reason not to vaccinate children.

That's your opinion. But there is plenty of research on how vaccines are harmful. I don't plan on being vaccinated except for the stuff I was at birth such as small pox and polio.

There is a massive amount of research corroborating how most vaccines are predominantly beneficial and a majority of scientists advocate their usage, so by your logic you should be pro-vaccines.

That's one of the problems with Human society, we are intelligent enough to do intelligent things but we stay in the dark ages with our opinions and methods of doing things.

H1N1 is short for Swine Flu there was a huge outbreak a while back and I was hospitalized for 5 days because of it

(I nearly died because of a extremely high fever)

The same thing happened to me, I had a really high fever but I felt sooo cold, it was weird.
