Okay so I have a question. I want to add leaderboards/highscores to kitpvp. I also want the score to go down 10% whenever the player is in top 30, and haven't logged in, in the last 24 hours. The question is, if the player has 100 kills, stays inactive for 30 hours, should their scoreboard say 90 kills? or 100 kills? while their highscore says they have 90 kills. The idea is to let people know their lifetime stats and to keep them accurate. At the same time I don't want people complaining that on the scoreboard they have 5000 kills and on the highscores they only have 4000. So to stop the difference between leaderboards and highscores, we could remove the 10% both from leaderboards and highscores. So, should we remove the 10% from leaderboards and highscores, or only from highscores?
but then people are going to get 50,000 score, and quit. Their score will stay forever and new players will be completely disincentiveized to compete at all. Leaderboards are something that players are supposed to actively engage in, not abandon participation because a bunch of people set ridiculous scores and left. It's ether remove 10% from inactive players, or have monthly wipes.
sounds good <3 surge you should reset everything again so that people can get a fresh start since you are now adding this
true, but maybe they want their legacy to stay on Squadcraft, to get a really high score they'd have to work hard at it. Just because they're inactive doesn't mean you wipe all their work. suckup lol
Score should not go away. If anything, higher scores will encourage people to play more to compete and get on the leaderboards.
I was #4 when ot was actually hard to get kills, You needed atleast 15k kills to be in the top 100 I had around 69k kills and 800 deaths
