I made a mistake not trusting staff and thinking I can do everything by myself. It's not healthy and it's just not possible. I'm not the terminator, I can't stay awake 16 hours a day everyday doing the job of 10 people. I think a daisy chain chain of command is appropriate. To settle my trust issues and make sure there is no abuse or abusive behavior of the staff, we can always have another person watch over the next.

    so like

So like there will be like squads of mods. Three or four mods and then a supervisor whos job it is to watch the mods and make sure they are doing their job. They would be teleporting to mods and watching them in vanish, but they can only teleport to those four people.

Then there will be an invis admin watching the invis supervisor mods making sure they aren't running around the map in vanish scouting bases.

Then there will be a head admin who will manage the invis admins and make sure they are doing their jobs.

We can even have social media staff team, advertising staff team, even a thrend watching staff team that will have the job of seeing what are the new trends, and if a minigame or an idea becomes virally successful we can quickly add it to the server.

we can even have a small payroll where everyone who is staff actually gets paid. This will motivate people to not get fired. Sure it's a very small amount like $30, but for kids who's parents don't buy them games, that can be pretty cool to go and shop on humble bundle once a month or something.

This server did die out, but if you are genuine about bringing the server back to an excellent state, with these improved tactics, I am definitely behind you.

Sounds good, hopefully this plan will actually be put into action and doesn't end up like previous visions that get people's hopes up and then fall apart. The daisy chain idea could be used to delegate tasks among each squad and staff member and if a player/member of staff feels that an injustice has occurred then they have a way to voice their concerns; hopefully in confidentiality, with a higher up. Having a payroll system should definitely encourage more people to apply for staff and be more active on the server should they be successful. If this were to be implemented then perhaps it may be worth reviewing the staff application and hiring procedure, as well as monitoring the activity of accepted staff members to ensure that players aren't applying purely for the monetary gain. Also, the advertising/trend watching staff teams would be a great way of getting new people onto the server and bringing new gamemodes which solves the "not worth updating the server if barely anyone's around to make use of it" issue.

All in all, great ideas. If implemented effectively, I'm hoping they'll help address the lack of communication and transparency between staff and players, as well as between staff themselves. I also want to suggest that if you're going to add/change anything to look into the full implications of the way things work on the server, and if a new change/plugin you've added does cause issues with the way the server worked previously then it should be investigated thoroughly, since in the past when issues have been reported that have been caused by something you've changed it seems like you've ignored the players and just stuck with the plugin (ie mob taming, villager/hopper limits, increased hopper efficiency etc).

Anyway, like I previously said: if the outstanding issues and "dead server" attitude are sorted and there are more gamemodes which appeal to me (not just pvp based) then I'd happily continue playing and supporting the server.

Well some of the ideas were to make it one of the job duties to investigate the staff to player interactions, monitor and review it. I think making it a job to watch out for it is more important than making a report system. Because maybe sometimes it won't be reported but with someone's job being to look for the abuse, it will get caught all the time. So two things will get people fired, not doing their job, and abusing their privileges, and it should be each person's in the chain of command job to see that the two things aren't being done by their subordinates. We can also do reports as well.

Anyway there's too many issues and not really enough resources to fix everything and rocket launch the server. I think i will focus on sg.squadcraft.net and factions.squadcraft.net and advertise those things. I'll add water portals to go to other servers from those servers but ill only advertise the servers one at at time when they are finished.

It's kinda complicated how much work there is, and we don't really have any developers so i have to hire freelancers out of pocket.
