Hi, and thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this app. I have been wanting to apply for quite some time now (ever since I heard you could), but past events have stopped me, and only now have I decided to go forward with it. I have asked a few people for their opinions on making this, and they said go for it. (Thankyou guys, btw <3) (Note: If this part isn't allowed to be here, could a mod let me know and I'll edit it out?) Anyway, here's the application. IGN: smeagolz (despite my wishes to capitalise the 's' :/) IRL Name: Joel P. Age: 15 Timezone: UTC +10 or Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) Respectfulness on a scale of 1-10: Well, that depends. I always try to keep my cool, and although I can recall one or two times when I have let myself become annoyed, I don't think it has affected my rating dramatically. I respect a staff member a little more than others who are not, due to the position of power held by the former, and will follow any orders given by one quickly and efficiently, with little to no arguments. One other point I think should be added. I believe that its not just the moderator applicant who determines respectfulness, but the players around him/her also. With all this in mind, I think I will rate myself an 8/10. Like I said before, if you feel differently to what I have put, say so below please. Obedience on a scale of 1-10: Again, I think it varies. If I'm given an order by a staff member, I will question why, and when/if a reason is given, I will usually do it. However, I am the type of person that likes to know why I am doing something, so I will enquire pretty much always as to why I need to do this errand or request. The same goes for regular members, but a little more questioning. I think I would be a 7/10. Once again, if you feel differently, feel free to say so. Experience: I am sorry to say that I have only had experience on half a dozen small servers, that had less than 20 people on them. Nothing major like other people. These servers were not 'official' servers and as such were not named, and have been shut down. On each of these servers I was either Moderator or Admin. I cannot show proof of this, due to the fact that I never thought I would need it. The benefit of this though, is that I know my way around commands like /kick, /jail and /mute, all of which are used commonly on Factions. Another example is /god, which is used to observe PvP fights to check for hacking. Although my experiences are not as numerous as I would like, I believe they are adequate enough for me to adjust to the size of SquadCraft and use these commands efficiently, and as they are required in the large environment of Factions. Any past offences: I was muted for 10 minutes by Kalanisboss yesterday for hash tagging, although this is because I asked him to, because he didn't give the standard mute. Other than that, I have not been muted, jailed or banned on Factions in the entirety that I have played it. Just one thing; Yonda, if you read this I had heard that I may have been perm banned for a time after the charge back incident occurred. Could you or someone else confirm this, and if it is true, I will add it to this. Reasons you (I) should be a moderator: I'm going to list my reasons up here, then explain them in order. 1) Reduce rule breakers on Factions, and be there to moderate when no one else is usually on. 2) Assist new players and explain the rules. 3) Be someone to go to and get help from. 4) Wanting to help the server, in anyway I can. 1) Reduce rule breakers on Factions, and be a moderator when no one else is online: Whenever I get home from school, I immediately jump on to my PC, check the forums and settle down to play some Factions. What I notice during that time is that there are no moderators on for at least an hour (Kalanisboss usually gets on after a time), and one time when I had a day off, I checked and before the time Kalan got on, there was no mods for at least 3 hours. I believe it would be beneficial to have someone be on during that gap, so to catch rule breakers who may be on at that time and help others. Which brings me to my next point, hackers, spammers and rule breakers in general. A higher percentage of them frequent the server now, and constantly in chat there are complaints of 'Nice hax/cks mate' or 'Hacker! Such and such hacks!' If a moderator was on during this time, they could investigate these claims, and silence the spammers that inevitably pop up. I also have studied Joshy's punishment chart that he made up, have the lay down of it pretty well remembered, so I can state that I was doing the right thing and have the proof to back me up. 2) Assist new players and explain the rules While this may not be as frequent, I still do see people in chat ask how to make a Faction, what they are supposed to do, how to make money, etc. While I try to explain this to the best of my ability anyway, I know that staff get through easier, and that more people listen to them than they would a donator. Assisting and making new players feel welcome is a possible way to attract more people to the server, because if that member who has recently joined enjoys the server, he may bring his friends in, and if they enjoy it, they could bring their friends in, and so on and so on. 3) Be someone to go to for help, and get help from While the above reason may state this already, I want to be someone that everyone- member to bedrock - can go to for help, and hopefully get help from. I am used to being spammed with msgs, and it has helped me learn to respond quickly and efficiently, which to me equals professionalism, since in the real world, there are deadlines to everything. I would help with most things, like raiding a vault, helping to build one, assisting with commands, going to PvP to watch a battle, and more. Its these types of things that I think a moderator should do, and maintain a calm, and helpful attitude at all times. 4) Wanting to help the server, in any way I can More than anything else, I want to help the server. Help it get back to where it was before and beyond. Help Yonda reach his dream of 1000+ players by 2015. If I were to get the moderator position, I would do anything and everything to help this server get up from its knees and back on its feet. I can't say how I can do it, or if I can, but I would do everything I could to try. Advertising the server, getting people to join, even giving out free rank giveaways (Yonda, I know you will have words for me about that, but I have fixed the situation, I think.) Anything that would help the server, I would be willing to do, even if I had to learn on the spot or do something I hate doing. I love this server and want to give something back after all its given me. This concludes my reasons. Any extra things you want to add: Not particularly, just thanks for reading I guess. ~Smeags
Support! +1 from me as you are a good ign player and have not lied on this app But lets throw a situation at you. Ok so say for instance Patrick_Harmon was hacking. You did your normal go invis and check but as soon as you got there everyone that was accusing hacks said he toggled it when you got there, meaning he most likely has tracers and nametags. What would you do to handle this?
Ok, sorry but you've confused me a little (it's 11pm for me), but everyone is what, 1, 2, 3, players? And how about check his NPC info? As I Said on the app, I'm not the best with this and never encountered a hacker on the servers I modded on, so I'm a bit clueless here. :/ I'll go read up on these particular things to improve my knowledge, but right now, I'm not sure in what I should do. Sorry.
Nah its fine Just what I do is I go on an alt with like 2-3 gapps and crap armor to find out Seems to work recently ;3
He means to other peoples anvantage, as well as his. For instance he could go out and pvp with a couple of his friends, then see @igotztheskillz13. Then jail him.
I would use commands like /mute and /jail to silence and seclude rule breakers, but it wouldn't just be for my advantage. It would be so everyone else can have a smoother playing experience.
+1 you are mature, and will fill the gap,I NEVER see kalan on,I'm on a lot,you are on quite a bit, good app,you deserve it!
Great Application Smeagolz! I hope the other faction players agree with what you've said above... All things in consideration and past events, I wish you the best!
I wouldn't be the best. .-. Yum, Evravon, WhiteRedFox, MLG and Datti all do a better job then I ever could I think.
I own hell. I collect all souls stolen by gingers mate. I liked your sig, where did it go? ;-; Totally not a part ginger. >_>
For a bedrock, I was the longest lasting moderator. Bedrocks are known for being DDoSers and just plain annoying.
Well here is my opinion, I have seen Yonda not look at apps before because they were on the blacklist before. He even straight up told BigTea that he would not look at his app. I do not know if this affects anything but I will leave it to other mods since this is a rare occasion.
Yeah, he did. I asked yonda if he would look at my app, Then we went on huge rant on how he doesn't pick mods of the forums.

But I shouldn't have been on the blacklist in the first place in my opinion. I didn't mean for what happened to happen, and I accept that it did, but I never charged backed. If Yonda wants to take that up with me he can.
I dont know you but I see you on the forums alot and you seem like to me you would be a really good mod! GL man
You are probably the most homo sexual human being that I know. Just read your signature and look at your name. Lol
Ah its good. Shouldn't be so hard on you. I don't like to tell many people this but I can get kinda mean because I was born in a bad place and I learned to be like that from the people I hung out with. Sorry :/
@smeags You've come along way. You've been helping me on these forums for so long you have got my 1,000 message!
+1 from me, bro. You are very mature and you would make an excellent mod and role model for players. Great app and GL.
