I personally don't hate homosexuals as they are just other human beings to me, I just wanted to share a video with you guys that I watched. f
I just felt like posting this, it entertained me. Oh and btw here comes EA to tell you that 'you're born gay'.
So clearly it is not a choice. If they don't choose to be gay, it's a problem. Are scientists developing a cure to remove thoughts about it? If it's not a choice, it is not normal. That's what I got from that. And men come out gay after spending time in prison because they were raped or they witnessed rape. They are mentally traumatized after that most likely. This isn't about equality, this is practically a mental problem that needs to get removed.
Rape occasionally happens in prison showers. A man drops a bar of soap, and when he bends over to pick it up, a man, well, I'll just say rapes him. He could be traumatized from that, and developed thoughts about being gay because a man raped him. Clearly this has nothing to do with equality if this isn't a choice, it's a mental problem.
It's saying that science has proven being gay is not a choice and it is not unnatural because in over 450 species, homosexuality has been found; homophobia only in one. Which is unnatural?
Their was no proof from what you just said all you did Was say more about rape and never provided any proof
I'm just restating what EA said. (The article she linked everyone to) It is saying that homosexuality is a mental disorder and that they were all f**ked up in the head the whole time. I never had a problem with homosexuals if they chose to be one, (except the fact that I don't support it lel) but if it is proven to be some sort of mental problem, then that is different.
I am queer and I can tell you with full certainty, and complete honesty that I did not choose it. I would do anything to be straight, to be accepted, not have to hide who I fall in love with, not have to be worried about falling in love with a girl who is straight. Straight is just not who I am and I cannot change that. I believe I was born this way, I can't prove it but I can prove that I did not choose it.
You don't have to care who accepts you aslong as your family does and you shouldn't hide, look at that viner for example that you put about being a 'bitch', maybe some are born that way and some have chosen that way.
All I'm going to say is this: You can ask ANYONE who identifies at LGBTQ+ and they will tell you that their orientation is not something they chose. That should say something to you and if it doesn't, please learn about common sense.
^^^^ It's not like a baby is born attracted to the same sex. The argument "one is born gay" is invalid because a baby isn't born getting sexually excited upon seeing a person. Ffs, it's a baby. A baby is a clean slate. It seems much more logical that influence is what drives sexuality in a person. It's just like a baby isn't born with a certain religion. No, it's whatever the people around the kid say that influence him. A baby isn't born speaking English. You have to teach him to speak it. Same idea applies to sexuality. It's a no brainer.

That's partially true because sexuality is fluid. Someone who identifies as bisexual may identify as homosexual later in life. My point is that people don't choose their orientation.
Could you attempt to find a scientific explanation? Increased dopamine release upon sight of the wrong stimulus? Try, I'm just curious.

There is significant debate over whethersexuality is stable throughout life or is fluid and malleable. Scientific consensus is that sexual orientation, unlike sexual orientation identity, is not a choice, as there has been no strong evidence to validate it as a lifestyle choice.[1][2][3] That first source would have been great, had it not been unsure of what was the answer. Well.....hmmm....ummm...perhaps, or maybe not. Second source doesn't sound so sure, either. If you want to use these as solid evidence to your point, it's not a good idea. Both clearly state "there is still a lot of debate". However, there are good rational, scientific explanations so *thumbs up*
I know I'm a bit late to the party but I'm going to give my opinion on this quote. Not sure if someone else stated something explaining this but I will do it anyways. I happen to know three gay/bi friends. Two of them have parents, siblings, and family members that disagree with being gay completely. They find it disgusting, horrible, and against everything. I don't think influence is the case in this situation. Seems to me that your body or something about you just automatically likes a certain sex. It may be hormones, but I know that some people don't choose to be gay. I honestly don't think it's a choice for some and some people may disagree with this but I think it isn't. On the other hand, my last friend has two gay parents, both the same sex. He is gay, and it may be influence that caused this. I think there's no real answer for this after all. I guess it just depends on who you were meant to be. (sexually).
Exactly, it doesn't make sense to me why someone would choose to be gay of they knew they would be kicked out of their own family. I've never heard of a gay person saying they chose to be gay, only a straight person, saying that it's a choice. Just saying.
I have never, in 15 (almost 16) years of living heard a gay person say they chose to be gay. I have however, heard a straight person tell a gay person they chose it. *sips tea*
The problem with humans is that their brain is complex. While that makes us smart, it also makes us inevitably unstable. Examples include the fact that we need wars to settle national disputes, have religions, and whatnot. That aside, any small error in the brain can have a huge impact on us. I'd say part of what makes some people homosexual is how unstable the brain becomes, particularly at the age of some of us on these forums. Many hormones are rushing through us at this moment, and we begin to think differently. I think it is at this time where the 'choice' happens. However, I rethink this and it sounds incorrect. There is probably a wide panorama of factors which play a role in homosexuality. It's similar to how people constantly debate on whether autism is increasing due to genetics or the environment. We aren't sure. Apply that concept to the cause of homosexuality. The cause of homosexuality will remain vague to us for quite some time. You could find evidence to support that it's something that starts off at a young age. You could find evidence to support it's a choice. Whatever. My point is, stop arguing because it'll never end. I'm including myself in this because I also made an argument. We don't have definitive proof to show that it's birth or a choice. I can say that 'gay since birth' is ridiculous because it just sounds wrong. But if you think about it, 'it's a choice' sounds wrong. If I ask myself the very same question that is causing your debate, I would never be able to find the light at the end of the tunnel. The whole subject is an enigma. I'd say we leave it at rest now and we just enjoy ourselves for who we are.
