Grinding into second gear on my SS and I'm trying not to panic just yet

I've been nursing a 2016 Camaro SS for about a year now and honestly it's been a dream car since I was a teenager watching Transformers but the last few weeks the manual transmission has been giving me a real headache whenever I try to shift into second gear at anything above a casual crawl, it's just this nasty little grind that makes me wince every single time and I've started skipping second entirely and going straight to third just to avoid the noise which is not exactly ideal in Sharjah traffic. The car still pulls like a train and the clutch feels fine so I'm praying it's just a worn synchro ring rather than something catastrophic inside the TR6060, but I took it to a regular garage near my place and the guy basically said he doesn't want to open up a Tremec gearbox and suggested I either live with it or find a specialist. I've been digging around on some local muscle car forums and a few people mentioned there's a shop that actually does proper Camaro Gearbox Repair Sharjah and they've rebuilt a few of these exact transmissions for other guys in the local Camaro club so I'm thinking about giving them a call this week to see if they can just drop the box and freshen up the synchros without making me sell a kidney to afford it. Anyone else in the Sharjah or Dubai area actually had their manual Tremec opened up locally and can tell me if it's worth the effort or if I should just start hunting for a low mileage used transmission from a wrecked car in Al Sajaa and cross my fingers?
