What is your Minecraft name? My minecraft name is Basilbac

Why do you play Minecraft? I play minecraft to play both with people in real life and people in game. I enjoy the ability to create and construct new things out of thin air, and to have an opportunity to meet and socialize with people from all around the world, and to get to know new people.

What is your time zone? Eastern Standard Time (GMT -4)

When are you usually online? I am usually online, on weekdays, from about 6:30-10 or so, occasionally dropping in on minechat as I find time throughout the day. However, on weekends, I usually have both Saturday and Sunday mornings free till about 5 or 6, possibly later, allowing me to stay available and respond to anything as needed when needed. This more or less means I am online or immediately available 65% of the time I’m awake.

How many hours a day can you play? How many hours do you actually play? I can play, on a weekday, for about 4-5 hours, and on a weekend, 8-10 hours. During the week, I actually play for about 2-4 hours. Over the weekend, I will generally spend 3-6 hours either on the forums or in game each day.
How long have you been playing SquadCraft? I have been playing on squadcraft as a whole for what I believe to be a bit more than 3 years, long ago when I started. As for skyblock itself, I would say about 2.5-3 years playing on it. I originally played on another account before changing over to Basilbac as my main.

What's your favorite memory on SquadCraft? My favorite memory is quite recently, when I was able to assemble an amazing team of skyblockers into one island , combining our materials and skills. Over the past month and a half or so, we have been able to create a level 6200 island, and I have been able to take over baltop #1 with about 100k (to all the factions, prison, and mcmmo players out there, this may not seem like much, but overall skyblock has about 550k in circulation).

Where do you spend your time at SquadCraft? I spend about 80% of my time on squadcraft skyblock, where I focus and hope to be a moderator. I spend about 5% of my time on factions, generally just talking to friends and opening crates. The other 15% of my time is generally spent on prison, but also throughout the other servers-Sometimes kitpvp, skywars, etc. If I tend to see a good amount of people on skywars, I generally go to join them as it doesn’t get too much circulation and the more people there the better chance it could become active again.

Why do you want to be a moderator? What is your goal as a SquadCraft moderator? I want to be a moderator to help and encourage both new players and old to begin and continue playing squadcraft for the long term. My goal is to help clean up the polluted servers that have hackers and dupers infesting them and cheating their way to be able to win and beat others, and often make others rage-quit. I often see people hacking and breaking rules, but without a moderator around all the time, it’s difficult to have them punished even with me turning in reports right at that moment, as not all moderators are global and most don’t respond before the hacker/rule breaker leaves.

As a moderator, how will you affect SquadCraft? As a moderator, I hope to affect Squadcraft by being a positive influence on the community. The best way to change something is from within, and to help rid the server of hackers we all have to work together as a community to enforce the rules and report all kinds of rule breakers.

Do you want Mod just to have Mod next to your name? No; I understand everybody has the same response to this, saying they don’t just want it for the mod tag and perks, but, in fact, it would be useful to have the actual mod tag removed from above the name of moderators in my experience. This is because, oftentimes, hackers see a mod watching them, turn off their hacks and resume gameplay, or simply log off/move to their island. However, when that mod leaves, they continue in front of the normal players. This being said, it would be a useful tool if moderators could toggle the [Mod] tag as needed.

What happens if you are not chosen to be a moderator? If I am not chosen as a moderator, I will continue gameplay as normal with no effect to the way I act.

What kind of skills do you have? Personally, I believe I have skills working with people who may be generally more challenging or not as eager to work with. I also believe I have the skills necessary to explain and teach people the rules, having a good amount of patience and cooperation as long as it is shown both ways.

Have you ever been banned? If so, why? I have been banned on other servers, but never on squadcraft. I was once banned on an old server I used to play skygrid on for someone I made a deal with to donate for me taking my stuff then charging back, getting me banned. However, I didn’t have enough proof to get myself unbanned, and I left the server as a whole.

Have you ever cheated, used hacks? If so, why? I have used hacks before, but not on squadcraft. I have only used them on small IP hosted servers with some friends for fun.

How do you treat younger players? I treat all players the same, in the way that I attempt to be kind, friendly, and helpful to the best of my ability. I tend to attempt to extend my patience with players I note are younger, as I understand they may not have the same level of comprehension and may have more questions as to understand in greater depth. However, unless I am given a reason not to, all players who treat me with respect receive my respect.

Do you use TeamSpeak or skype? I use both TeamSpeak and Skype, preferably Skype as I don’t have the app for TeamSpeak on my phone, and the microphone on my computer is extremely screwed up, giving off lots of echo, and, according to some, making me sound like I am speaking through a potato.

List the things you've done to help the SquadCraft community and the SquadCraft server. I have caught various hackers and rule breakers, as can be vouched for by many mods, and have caught and immediately reported many advertisers and gotten them punished.

How many applications have you submitted before? When was the last one? I have submitted 1 moderator application before, about 1 and a half years ago, under a different forum account. It was denied for being out of date about 4 months after I submitted it, but I later became a moderator.

Is there anything else you would like to say? I don’t really have anything else to say besides that, on skyblock, there are so many times when I simply see people using profane and foul language but have no power to stop it, and by the time I find that a moderator is available to stop the people doing it, the rule breakers have often logged off and therefore cannot be punished.

Do you have any experience as a staff member of any organization? (doesn't have to be Minecraft) I volunteer at my high school’s football games where I sell gear and food. I have also moderated on here for a little over 3 months, and occasionally volunteer at my local mosque and help with community dinners and events.

Well, my name is Yasine, and I enjoy playing sports as well as electronics. I am 14 years old. I swam for what I believe was 6 years on a local swim team, 3 of which we won City Champs in. I am a 9th grader at my high school, and I play tennis and plan to begin debate club. I feel that religion is a pretty large part of the way I live, and practice it every day. I live in America but my parents originate from the Middle East and North Africa. I’ve been playing minecraft on and off for what I believe to be about 4 years, and it’s just one of those games that, after you leave it for a bit, you just have to come back to it.

Of course, you could add more content, which would help imo.

I honestly do not know you that well but based on the application you seem like the stereotypical person applying for moderator. I do not know you in game but anyone can make a good application and not be the right person for the job in game. Based off the application i would say +1 but what can you do different from any other stereotypical moderator ?

I would not recommend Bailbac for mod. He took first place on baltop by using alternate accounts, doing 1 time only challenges more than once, and taking advantage of game exploits.

Well then surely alt accounts shouldn't be allowed at all as people use them to get more keys which gets them more money and items and people use them to boost on kitpvp.

 

First of all, please show me even the smallest amount of respect and decency. You showed me plenty of trash and rudeness in game, and I would appreciate it if you would be willing to take the time to spell my name properly.

Please note that I didn't say yes to that question. I merely said more or less. In order to get to where I was, I worked to redo many different challenges and earn as much money as possible to be the first to reach 100k. The thing is, I didn't do this all myself. I got help from Terra, Gold, and a few others in order to raise money and complete these challenges: So yes, I did do the beacon challenge more than once - However, I got others to help me do it. Ask @PukingRainbowz - I gave her the items, she did all the challenges, she gave me the $. That's how I do it.

People are allowed to use alts so technically Basil has done nothing wrong as I know a few people that have 40 alt accounts which they use to get keys.

Yes, the problem I have is that he exploited the system to take a top position in skyblock, now he is applying to be a moderator to achieve an even more power position in the game. I think it is for the wrong reasons and would not prove to be beneficial for SquadCraft.

Only when it matters, it's what any good mod would do.

 

Same problems with few kitpvp players, they get alts and just farm on them, really.

A good mod would actually report yknow

 

If he would get mod he wouldn't gain any more power than anyone else would apart from being able to punish people so actually he wouldn't gain anymore power at all. Also as Puk said people use alts on Kitpvp go farm kills to get to the top but they are not punished. On factions people use alts to get more keys to get more items and money to become the richest and they don't get punished so why should Basil? Basil is one of the most kindest, considerate and mature person I have ever met and I think he would be a perfect mod and he has definitely showed it before and if you disagree then clearly you don't know him at all. (Please excuse my little rant)

All that the screenshot shows is me getting on an alt to do challenges. The reason I do this is because, between our island and Terra's, we have loads and loads of cactus-Over 50 double chests. However, the cactus challenge, like any other, fills up the screen in what I believe is a mere 3 times with it being done. So, as soon as I start doing those challenges, I miss chat messages, and, as it shows in the screenshot, I was chatting with ballet_mom. Ballet is an old skyblocker who is a great friend of mine that I hardly see anymore, me being in school and her working, and I wanted to catch up with her and see how she was doing. So now, tell me; Is it a crime to want to enjoy my time on squadcraft? Is it a crime to want to converse with people I've known but haven't seen for the longest of time? Is it a crime to want to help people rather than having their messages pass me by? Honestly, I think that all these things are perfectly allowed. However, is it wrong to not warn and tell off a player when they do something a mod sees as wrong? Is it wrong to just completely ignore the player doing that and let them off the hook; If vsteel thought that what I was doing was wrong, he should've said something long ago.

Basilbac worked quite hard to obtain his balance. And he certainly didn't gain it all by way of using alternate accounts. I gave him all of my money because he works on my island and maintains all of my farms, as he said in another post, I'm not the only one he has helped for money. Quite frankly, calling that an exploit makes little to no sense being as it still requires every resource to complete the challenges, it's not as though no one else is capable of doing the exact same thing if they invested the time and effort as Basil did. As far as your reasoning for basil not being a mod, it appears that you're saying you would not like him to be a moderator simply because he has obtained #1 on the balance top and used efficient means of his "resources", resources being other players, multiple islands with high quantities and types of farms, and great strategies that allow for high efficiency production of each and every item he could possibly need, including god armor and tools that I spent a great deal of time creating and gathering specific enchants for, thereby allowing him to achieve balance top. Being that he's my close friend, my opinion is of course biased, although I believe there's quite enough support in this thread to say that either he has a lot of friends, or that he's a decent person who qualifies for being a moderator. Quite frankly I see Basilbac helping other players and interacting with them in a manner of which would make them more likely to continue playing, being as he creates a friendly and helpful environment, thus benefiting the server by making more people come back, and more people likely to donate. Even though that might not matter to individual players, as some find it annoying, on a business perspective Basilbac would make a great mod considering the benefit to the community he is.

vsteelcityv, I believe you're a good mod and I'm not attempting to demean you in any way, however I don't believe those rules can be enforced by definition or be applied in this situation properly. If that rule is taken at 100% face value, the applications would be endless in being able to be used to punish people.
I assume the definition below is the rule's intended meaning of the word, the instance being a situation.
1. Use (a situation or person) in an unfair or selfish way.
If that definition was the intended meaning, every action to increase your balance by way of say, auctioning iron, would apply. Being as people unskilled or unknowledgeable in making an iron farm are at a disadvantage and the person selling the player the iron is exploiting the player buying it because it has little value to the seller; who has a replenish-able supply, other than to boost their island level and produce tools, which can be done in excess with as little as 1 iron farm. That also makes the rule about boosting impossible to follow at face value, because that would mean that every block placed for the purpose of increasing island level would be considered boosting, as well as doing challenges to boost balance without a purpose behind obtaining said balance aside from increasing balance. On the issue of using alts, anyone can reproduce the exact same results Basilbac has, given the resources, time and effort. Saying what he did is unfair, is the same as saying that receiving help from other people who happen to have a massive abundance of resources is unfair or an exploit.

Yeah I know, that's why I didn't say anything about it when he said he was going to do it. I didn't care if he did it to be honest because so many others have done that. I mainly posted that screenshot because Blade said he was doing it, and someone said there's no proof about it and I wanted to have my friend's back.

And as for the app, I don't see anything bad about it. Basil is a mature person in game and he's nice as well. He's helpful to most of the people on skyblock, so it wouldn't be a bad thing if he was modded again.
