Not sure if this would be the correct category for this thread but I feel that it can really help Squadcraft take a step forward and since this is the Server Improvement section I decided to include it here. Owner- Will be Surgetheurge until the end of time Admin? I can understand if @surgetheurge may not want to give away too much power to the public with this so maybe it can be a person that he trusts and maybe help with commands or if factions goes down. This person would also have the perms that a Sr and regular MOD would have. This does not have to be a position if surge would not like. Head/Sr Mod Mod- This would be a person that has been on the server for some time and someone that has gotten to know surge and Is someone who has been a mod for sometime. Basically same perms that a mod would receive. The only difference is that this person would be at a higher position and would be in charge of mods behaving and things in that range. Mod- This person has been recognized by surge from a trainee to a mod due to Excellent Moderation Skills and patience with younger players. This person would also recieve a MOD tittle on the forums and would be able to Lock Threads, Helper/Trainee- This would be for the beginners that applied before and were accepted. This player would only have the basic mod perms. They would have to practice with this until they get a sense of what they are doing. Once surge sees an advance in this person's moderating they can then be promoted to mod. These people will have a limit of 5 infractions. Cussing= 1 infraction Hacking=Immediate Demotion The decision of infractions would be made determined to the situation. This would help with tattletails :3 ext. This would also go with Junior/Head Builders Trainee/Mod/Sr Mods, but not Admins. Surge can swear and cuss as many times as he wants <3 This person would also be a ingame resource point for players like the mods and sr mods will be too. Surge is too busy to be answering question like: "OMG surge does wiipro have fly hacks!" A mod would say,"no, he has donated for a mvp rank if you would like one get it here--> http://squadcraft.net/pages/Donate/" Head Builder- Will be @Thesparrow11 until anything major happens. If TheSparrow resigns then the Junior Builder will rise up to this position. Kind of like if the president dies the Vice President will be able to take his position. A junior Builder can also rise up if the Head Builder thinks he is fit enough for the job. There can be multiple head builders. This means that selecting a Junior Mod or Head Mod will have to be decided by a vote or if the application is beautiful he would be accepted. Surge can add anyone to be Head Builder at anytime if he wants. This is kind of a mixture of a democracy and a monarchy. Junior Builder/s- This would be a person who TheSparrow11 would think has potential and he would try to work with him to help him excel in building. This can be done with tips or maybe coordinating a time and date to practice. Thank you for reading. This can help surge a lot so that he does not have to deal with everything himself. I'd say remove the only forum mod (if it was only that), as that seems kind of pointless, helper seems kinda pointless if there is both trainee and that-imo helper should be trainee, but other than that this looks good. Maybe if helper got kick on the non pvp dominant servers, as I see where that could go wrong on things like factions

I removed it since there is no point. A mod should also have it because they would be able to do it on the spot instead of filling out a stupid format and sending it to a skype group chat or something

This is over complicating simple roles. Surge (and the old admin with good reason) has decided against some of these positions in the past and I doubt he will care for them now as they are not needed in the least. Helper could be a useful rank but considering it's nothing but a prefix it in itself is pretty useless when you are powerless to actually help someone, you don't really need a prefix to have someone come to you for help.

Helper, Mod, Mod+, Admin, Head Admin, Owner. Difference between admin and head admin would be that head admin has OP. Having more staff ranks actually makes people want to apply. Currently if you apply for mod, you'd just be Mod forever. OP? Those are usual perms lol Only reason Surge doesn't give you guys is the perms is because he doesn't trust you, and with this you can earn his trust by getting higher up in the staff ranks. I could see Jail & Spectate as a bit OP for trainee, but with Mod those are usual Mod perms on servers.
That's dumb lol You made this thread because bigger servers have these things are on bigger servers, do you even play other servers than Squad? Probably not.
I think this is a good idea and fastened you did a good list of perms which ive actually seen ones like that on a more minor server(my first mc server) and it worked well and the staff were more helpful and stuff and i think it will help the server become better to everyone and also bring in more players like wiipro said @surgetheurge surge you gotta add this system cause with current system staff arent the most helpful and such and it will bring more people and surge you gotta start being a little more trusting, (if this is implemented i probably will try for staff i didnt try again yet since i felt staff arent able to help out much in current condition and nothing to strive to which is a motivation i have in things) oh and on unrelated topic how did deluxe manage to get mod?
Those are average Trainee/Helper perms lol Clearly you haven't played other servers Mute, Kick, and SocialSpy are basic perms lol Mods already have it, and they're essentially Helpers because Mods on every other server can ban users. So if you're willing to title someone Mod and give them the perms, what's the difference other than a different prefix? There isn't one.
Dude the word "Trainee Mod" says it all. We can not give a beginner all of the perms. They earn them. If you do not believe I play on other servers I am a MVP+ donor on the Archon I will gladly send screenies if you need.
"All of the perms" They wont get all of the perms, they get kick, mute, and socialspy. Those are the most basic perms ever. It wouldn't be called trainee mod either, it would be "Trainee", or "Helper". "Trainee Mod" sounds flat out stupid and unprofessional.
I would call it Trainee or Helper. If you look at every big, professional, and successful server they have one or the other, sometimes both.
it's a buttton more complicated than that. You can't just throw out a suggestion for a system and then say work with it. The system has to be built from the sides inward. So that we have a system that performs the functions we need it, we gotta think functions first, system second. The point is, in a reform we gotta lay all the facts down on the table, and make them work. Not propose a system then see if it's compatible. We gotta lay out everything we want to accomplish, and viable methods for that. The problem is, we don't have viable methods.
