I have a 960 and can run most games around 100 fps on high settings and the 1060 is a considerable amount better than mine so I'd say the 1060 to save yourself the hassles of an AMD Card such as the higher temps . The 1060 looks to be a better overall card than both the Red Devil 470/480 (wasn't sure which one you were talking about). That 1060 however does have less RAM than either the 470/480 but considering my 960 only has 2gb of RAM while that 1060 has 3gb, I would say that amount of RAM is fine considering I got my 960 for 200 bucks as well.
